Blue or Green Day: Friday, Oct. 6

Students and staff are asked and encouraged to show their true colors and wear their Michigan or Michigan State gear in honor of the game on Friday, Oct. 6th. On that day, wear blue (or gold) to make the green feel the blues, or green to make the blue feel the bile!

Dearborn Big Read wants your input

The Dearborn Big Read has been launched and it has something for everyone. Publish a recipe or have your family story videoed and included as part of local history. Many events will be held to celebrate What’s In A Name?, which is a book by Jhumpa Lahiri.

Local book clubs have offered to host book talks about this book and these are included in the grant that the Dearborn Public Library received to fund the third Dearborn Big Read.

The flyers below invite you to participate. if you work with students, there are many authentic connections which could align with curriculum in several subject areas.

Chatting with the Superintendent, Dr. Maleyko

On September 26. 2017, Dearborn Public Schools Communication Office issued this press release Chatting with Superintendent.

Dr. Maleyko stressed that the conversation will be driven by those in attendance and focus on topics related to individual schools or the District as a whole.  Parents who may want to discuss an individual student should arrange to meet privately with the principal of the school or the child’s teacher.
