Please keep in mind that the Vision Screening for the 7th grade students will take place on Monday, November 6th, Wednesday, November 8th and Thursday, November 9th, 2017.
The theme of 2017 District’s Care to the Core event is “We’re All in This Together“.
The District is putting together an opening act for the performance that will demonstrate how all schools work together to make up our District.
Each school is asked to select one student to represent the school in this opening number. If the school has a mascot costume, the District likes to ask that the student wears it. However, if the school doesn’t have an official mascot costume, the student could make up his/her own costume or simply wear the school’s colors.
The student will not have to say any lines, sing, or dance but simply be willing to have a little bit of fun on stage for about 3 to 5 minutes at the beginning of the program.
The show is Friday, November 10 and starts at 6:00 pm. There is a rehearsal on Wednesday, November 08 at 6:00 pm. The event will be held at the Ford Performing Arts Center.

As part of the overall plan to review the enrollment increases at Dearborn’s three comprehensive high schools, the District will hold a series of Community Forums to provide information and solicit feedback regarding proposed high school boundary changes. The forums are open to all members of the community and your child need not attend the school where the meeting is being held in order to take part. Continue Reading….
Our student, Hneen Aun, submitted her name into a drawing and she, and each of her classmates, won a book from the DFT Community Outreach Committee at the Dearborn Homecoming Drawing sponsored by the DFT and FirstBook. That was pretty cool! Superintendent, Dr. Glenn Maleyko visited Ms. Wooton’s class shortly after to congratulate and snap a super-selfie with all of the kids. A small action made a big difference to all these kids, and now thanks to Hneen, nobody in our 4th hour should be without a silent reading book, at least for a bit! Thanks – Julie Wooton & Michelle Hosler.
