STC to receive the Arts Organization Award

The Dearborn Community Arts Council is pleased to inform you that based on an initial nomination from Berni Herm, Stout Theater Company has been selected by the committee as the recipient of the Arts Organization Award for the prestigious Mayor’s Arts Awards for 2018. This Award is given annually to an arts organization recognized for outstanding contributions to the advancement and support of the arts in the greater Dearborn community – and has shown the importance of working hard in the arts while leading by example.

The Mayor’s Arts Awards for 201, presented by the Dearborn Community Arts Council will be held Tuesday, April 10, 2018, at 7:00 PM in Studio A at the Ford Community & Performing Arts Center with an Afterglow / Reception to follow across the lobby inside the Padzieski Art Gallery.

For the past four years, the Stout Theater Company has provided entertainment and enrichment activities for Dearborn youth through our productions. Founded in 2014, the Stout Theater Company is a student-led enterprise that provides opportunities for personal expression, growth, and creativity through our production of plays at community events. Stout Theater Company (STC), began at Stout Middle School but has since expanded and now includes youth in surrounding elementary and middle schools to stage musical and dramatic productions.

Attention Peer Mentors: Support the School’s Store

If you support Stout’s School Storeopen before school on Tuesdays and Thursdays – and turn in a receipt showing proof of purchase to either Mrs. Crechiolo (Peer Mentors Hours 1, 2 and 3) or Mrs. Wheble (Peer Mentors Hours 4, 5, and 6), YOU WILL NOT HAVE TO DO YOUR LOG FOR THAT WEEK. It will replace it!

This is good example of cause and effect: Support the School’s Store (cause), you will not have to do your log for that week (effect)!

Thank you very much! Mrs. Crechiolo

Learn how Hummingbirds Hover

Capable of aerial maneuvers that put even the most advanced human-made flying machines to shame, hummingbirds are true masters of flight. As the tiny birds move from flower to flower, they appear to almost levitate—hovering in mid-air, practically motionless except for their blur of wings beating more than 40 times per second.
