In order to honor our former Superintendent Whiston for the great work that he has done in our district for the benefit of our students, I am requesting that all schools hold a moment of silence in his honor sometime on Friday. His funeral mass is at 1pm so that would be appropriate but it could be anytime of the day that is convenient for each school. I will be attending two funerals that day and I appreciate the outpouring of support from our Dearborn Family. It is very comforting to me, my family, and our great team/staff during this difficult time. In addition, I am asking that all buildings put their flags at half-mast on Thursday and Friday of this week in order to honor our State Superintendent Whiston. Thank you all and wishing you all the best as we move towards the end of the week. Take care everyone.
Dearborn High School students in the Russ Gibb Digital Media Program (formerly WDHS) welcome the public to attend the premiere screening of their newest films, including the movie “Stunted.” Please continue reading

He has information for hockey players and there is “no other direct way of finding them in the District.”
The Wheels assemblies will be held on Friday, June 8th. The 6th grade assembly will be in the morning and the 7th/8th grades in the afternoon. Remember, we are using the Falcon funds from the entire school year, so maintain good behavior to accumulate more funds!
We will be having our PBIS celebration for the 3rd card marking on Thursday, May 10th. It will be:
- A mouth-watering ice cream social with an added homework pass (for formative assignments only) for 6th graders
Ice cream and a choice of a Cedar Point permission slip or homework pass for 7th and 8th graders.
It is up to the individual teacher how the pass can be used. It could be used to turn in a late assignment and not have any points taken off or to excuse a student from a particular assignment that the teacher has allowed.
Students will need to be sent down to the cafeteria the following times:
- 6th grade 1:00 -1:50
- 7th & 8th grade 2:00-2:55
Unfortunately, some students will be excluded as they have chosen not to comply with behavior expectations.
Congratulations to the 2018-2019 newly elected officers for Student Council!
