Mr. William Lambdin, one of Stout Middle School teachers, thought that this video would be helpful to see our students doing a Socratic Seminar in class. The below is the description from the video.
This is a Socratic Seminar based around an article that claimed that all students should have paying employment while in school. The class switched between teacher lead and student lead discussions. During this video you can see the students interact as pilot/co-pilot. You can also notice when there was the start of debate how they self corrected to stop. The conversation was very organic and interesting to here them connect to the text on a personal level. The teacher in the video is a teaching student who has been observing Mr. Lambdin’s room.
