Dear Parents,
As students return to daily in-school instruction, our school will be following the district’s plan to use a multi-layered approach to protect students, staff and families and to avoid as much as possible any disruptions to the school year. The District has created a Back To School 2021 webpage that contains information about the COVID 19 protocols and practices we will be following in order to help maintain a safe learning environment for all students.
The big question that everyone is asking pertains to the use of facemasks in school and if they will be recommended or required.
The plan presented at the Board of Education meeting on Monday, Aug. 23 included a face mask requirement for students, staff and visitors inside all schools through Oct. 1st. Under federal law, masks are required on all public transportation, including school buses. The plan also includes other mitigation procedures such as increasing air circulation in buildings, striving to maintain three feet of social distancing in classrooms, and cleaning frequently touched surfaces more often. Most of the prevention strategies are a continuation of procedures the district has had in place since at least last school year.

The district also strongly encourages everyone who is eligible to be vaccinated against COVID-19, but is not requiring vaccinations at this time. Any decision about requiring vaccines for students would have to come from the state.
I also encourage you to visit our school webpage @stout.dearbornschools.org or contact us by phone or e-mail if you have any questions specific to our school or your children.
We are looking forward to seeing students back in our classrooms and will take all steps necessary to keep our school safe and our students in school. Looking forward to seeing you on Monday, August 30th.
Regards
Mrs. Abdelbaki, Stout Principal
