STOUT MIDDLE SCHOOL

Camp Tamarack Information

Stout students,

For those of you going to Camp Tamarack this week, I wanted to give you a few reminders.
As mentioned during the initial parent meeting, the Camp Tamarack trips are happening rain or shine. This means you need to be prepared for any weather conditions. Monday will be cool and there will most likely be some rain. Tuesday will be cool, but we may luck out with respect to rain. Wednesday will be warmer, but again there could be rain. You should bring a rain proof or resistant jacket and it should either be a winter jacket or you should layer underneath. For example, I will be wearing a warm sweatshirt under a weather resistance jacket. If you have a small umbrella, bring that too. I’ll also be bringing an umbrella.
  1. If you signed up to go on the trip, we are expecting you to go on the trip. At this point, it is too late to change your mind either way. If you want to stay back, we will not have enough teachers at Stout for that to happen as most teachers will be at Camp Tamarack. Likewise, if you decide you now want to go on the trip, we do not have enough teachers going to Tamarack to cover additional students. The staff at Camp Tamarack may switch a few activities if the weather requires it, but there is enough to do that we will have a good time regardless of the conditions.
  2. Regardless of the weather, you need to wear appropriate footwear. I will be wearing light hiking shoes, but a good pair of tennis shoes will do the trick just fine. Do not wear sandals, slides, or anything with an open toe. You should be prepared for outdoor activities whether the weather cooperates or not.
So, 6th graders, you’re up first. Please make sure you are dressed appropriately and ready to go tomorrow morning. We are really excited about this trip and think that everyone going will have a great time!
