STOUT MIDDLE SCHOOL

Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Day Activities at Stout! No School on Monday

In honor of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Day, Stout Middle School is closed on Monday, January 15, 2024. Schools are scheduled to resume on Tuesday, January 16, 2024.

Stout students have participated in activities last week to learn about the Civil Rights Movement and how Dr. King struggled to promote equality, justice, and fair treatment for African Americans.

Click to play this video for your family to watch together titled “How to Design Your Life’s Blueprint?” by Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. It is a powerful speech and is a short clip to watch.

Have your student share out loud what they understood from this speech and ask them to write down a few goals that they have in their life’s blueprint.

Reminder: Encourage your Stout student to enter the Dr. Martin Luther King contest at Stout Middle School.

Students can submit poems, essays, song, or posters using the theme of one of Dr. King’s powerful quotes, “Our lives begin to end the day we become silent about things that matter.” All submissions must be students’ original work. Students will be judged on creativity and neatness of work, having a strong message, and accuracy of the spelling and grammar used.

Students must submit their work to the Stout office by January 31, 2024.

Winners will receive prizes!!!
