Starting Friday, March 4, Mr. Melvin is having a tie contest to have YOU help design his new tie. Your tie must be based on a great book you have read. You can choose a favorite character, battle, or other scene and draw it on the entry form. Please do not just draw the cover of your book. Also, submit a paragraph that explains how your picture represents the book you chose. The winning entry will be turned into a tie that Mr. Melvin will keep and wear year after year.
- Grand Prize: $25 certificate to Stout’s Book Fair, and will have their tie created for Mr. Melvin to wear.
- Second Prize: $10 to the Book Fair;
- Runners-up: $5 book certificates that can be used only with Scholastic Book Orders.
All entries must be received by the end of the school day on Tuesday, March 15. Good luck and happy reading!
