STOUT MIDDLE SCHOOL

Stout among the Top 10% Schools in Michigan

MCPP Context Performance 2015 A Certificate SampleMr. Ben DeGrow, Education Policy Director at Mackinac Center for Public Policy extended his congratulations to Stout Middle school on receiving an A Grade and making it to the top 10% of the Elementary and Middle Schools in the state of Michigan. Here are some excerpts from the letter received by Stout Middle School principal Mr. Oke.

Dear Principal:

Greetings from Midland. Please allow me to extend my congratulations to you and your school for receiving an A grade on the Mackinac Center’s newly released 2015 Elementary and Middle School Context and Performance Report Card: https://www.mackinac.org/22171. The A grade recognition was given to the top 224, or top 10 percent of, schools ranked. Our report card’s “CAP Score” adjusts the most recent three years of MEAP Grade 3 through 8 assessment scores based on expected performance according to a school’s free (not reduced) lunch student population. (Read the publication for a full explanation.)

In the meantime, please find attached a graphic we have created that you are welcome to place on your school’s website. If you do so, we would ask you consider linking the graphic back to the full database of CAP scores: https://www.mackinac.org/CAP2015

Congratulations again. Please don’t hesitate to let me know if you have any questions or concerns regarding this matter.

Regards

Ben DeGrow

Education Policy Director
