It is fall sports season at Stout and we are so excited!!!!
Students who plan to try out for any sport this year must have a sports physical turned in before trying out. I emailed all students and parents the sports physical this morning in case you need to print one out. Students are required to turn in a new sports physical each school year.
Our Stout Student Sports Eligibility agreement was also emailed today. Students must always remember that if you participate in sports at Stout, you are a “Student-Athlete.” That means that you maintain good grades and model good behavior at all times since you represent Stout Middle School. This is a very honorable position to have.
Volleyball Information
Girls’ volleyball tryouts will be held afterschool on Wednesday, August 30 and Thursday, August 31 in the school gymnasium. If you are interested to try out, please complete the questions on this volleyball interest form: Volleyball Interest Form
All girls must have a sports physical turned in to try out. 6th-8th grade girls may try out.
If you have any questions, please email Varsity Coach Julie Wooton at wootonj@dearbornschools.org. Coach Naomi Plair (who is also our new 8th grade ELA teacher) will be the JV volleyball coach this year. They are very excited to get started!
Football Information
Only 7th and 8th grade students can join football in middle school for safety reasons. Students who wish to try-out must have a sports physical turned in. Interested students should attend try-outs after school Tuesday, August 29 on the Stout football field. Bring your water bottles to stay hydrated while you are outside on the field. You can email Coach Jai Simon at simonj@dearbornschools.org if you have any questions.
We are looking to hire an assistant football coach. If any parent/guardian is interested for this paid position, please email me at abdelbh@dearbornschools.org and we can meet for an interview (applicants will have background checks as part of the hiring process).
