Support the Citizens of Flint

WaterAs you all know, Flint is suffering from a critical water crisis and its citizens could use every possible help. You can donate water, funds to purchase filters, testing kits, and fruits and vegetables.

The State of Michigan has set up a website for the residents of Flint and those wishing to help. https://www.helpforflint.com.

The State of Michigan Superintendent has issued a letter providing guidance for school district’s wanting to help.

Also Dearborn Public Schools District has set a plan to move help the city of Flint as its citizens face a critical water crisis.

According to the plan, schools can decide upon one of the following options:

  1. Raise funds using any method of their choice. Examples could be to have students pay $1 to wear a hat, collect pennies or spare change for a given period of time, or any of the other methods the school may have used in the past.  If you choose to raise funds please follow the procedures in the attached documents for donating the collected money.
  2. Starting immediately and running until Friday, January 29, 2016 schools will collect cases of water. Please see the attached document.

On Friday, January 29 a semi-truck will be in the parking lot of Oakman Elementary School from 9:00 am to 11:30 am. The same truck will drive to the Administration Building and will be in the parking lot from 12:00 noon to 3pm.

At 3:00 pm the Semi-Truck will deliver the water to the Friends of Flint Water Drive being held from 10am – 7pm at the Redford Jaycee Hall. See attached flyer for details.
