There is still time to join the 1st Annual Stout Poetry Slam in honor of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.!!!!
The Poetry Slam has been rescheduled for Monday, Feb. 10, 2025.
Students who submit a poem will work with Mrs. Abdelbaki on practicing the delivery of the poem in a “slam” type of presentation focusing on tone of voice, facial expressions, hand gestures, etc. The deadline to submit a poem is Friday, Jan. 31!
This experience will help students with your public speaking skills so I encourage all students to step out of your comfort zone and give it a try!!
The students who have been practicing have improved their speaking skills tremendously in the two days they have practiced it during lunch.
Your poem must be self-created on a topic related to social justice such as equality, peace, love, respect for others, celebrating diversity, standing up for others in need, etc.
(No AI usage allowed).
