Your September 2017 Issue of e3

The school year is well underway and so is another year of e3 –“Your Staff Newsletter.”

e3 is the Staff Newsletter that the Communications Office sends to all 2,300 staff members in the Dearborn Public Schools. You’ll find important news, highlights of school activities, fun photos, and links to helpful resources and flyers about District events and community activities that may interest you, your students or your school community. We also feature classified ads in e3,  your chance to sell “gently used items” you may no longer need.

We encourage you to send items of interest to Editor Leslie Herrick, herricl@dearbornschools.org or to the general communications email box at communications@dearbornschools.org.

Religious Diversity Journeys

Religious Diversity Journeys continues to grow! For the 2017-2018 academic year more than 700 7th graders in Michigan will benefit from immersive educational journeys in churches, mosques, synagogues and temples. This year there are 5 distinct groups (cohorts) of students, representing more than one dozen public school districts and about seven private schools.  Specifically, for our district, approximately 50 seventh graders will participate in the journeys.

We want to continue to highlight that the main purpose of these journeys is to teach our students about others and for them to understand that many commonalities exist that connect us to one another in positive ways.

For more about the Religious Diversity Journeys program, please view this informational video: https://vimeo.com/143729993

Interested 7th grade students can pick up an application packet from Mr. Haddad in the counseling office.
