Read aloud together

When your child is young, read to him or her. Run a finger underneath the words so your child can follow along. Be enthusiastic. For example, use different voices for different characters.

As your child gets older, take turns reading sentences, then pages, then full chapters. Talk about how some books are simply fun to read.

Stout Track is back!

With the arrival of spring, comes the 2018 Stout Track season for 6th, 7th, and 8th graders! And so, the first day of tryouts will take place on TUESDAY, APRIL 10th!

If you plan to tryout, please read the following requirements:

  1. You must have a minimum of 2.0 on your marking period- 3 report cardand maintain that GPA (or above) throughout the season.  If a 2.0 is not reached or is lost, the athlete will be dismissed from the team.
  2. School behavior (bus, hallway, class, cafeteria, etc.) must be strong.  Students with poor behavior will not be permitted to join.
  3. You must have a sports’ physical completed before you can participate (before the first practice on 4/10). If you’ve already played football, basketball, swimming, or volleyball for Stout, you already have a physical on file.  If you haven’t played a sport yet, get a physical ASAP…they can be found in the office and must be filled out by a doctor!

ATTENTION THEATER STUDENTS:  If you are interested in being a part of the track team, please see Coach Hool (boys) or Coach Rancilio (girls) to make us aware of your interest, as the play performances don’t end until after track season begins.

SIDE NOTE: Running can be very challenging…so start getting ready now!  Run, run, and run some more!  If you wait until tryouts begin…it may not work out the way you expect it to!

For any questions, please contact Coach Hool at hoolc@dearbornschools.org or Coach Crechiolo at crechim@dearbornschools.org
