Dear Parents/ Guardians of Students who attended the Stout & O.L. Smith Summer Program,
I want to thank you for sending your child to our 2022 Summer Program. I want to remind everyone that Thursday, July 28 is the last day of the Summer Program.
The staff and students enjoyed the interactive lessons that kept the students engaged and learning while having fun this summer. The students really enjoyed the three field trips to the Henry Ford Museum, bowling at Thunder Bowl Lanes and roller skating at the United Skates of America.
The theme of each week brought a lot of excitement as we had students learn through project based learning activities. The themes were “Rockets and Airplanes Week,” “FIFA and Sports Week,” “Travel Around the World Week,” “Build a Boat Week,” and “Food and Fun Week.”
The students will end the program with an hour long celebration on Thursday with pizza and ice cream as they participate in games and sports. They will also watch a video that shows a compilation of pictures that were taken during the summer program. I hope they enjoy watching it.
Please encourage your student to keep reading books that “interest them” during the remainder of the summer break so they can keep improving their literacy skills, comprehension, and communication skills during their time off.
