STOUT MIDDLE SCHOOL

Art Gallery & Auction in April

Edsel Ford High School’s Interact Club is planning an event that will consist of an art gallery and auction It will take place sometime in April. The Club is looking for pieces of art to put on display as well as any unwanted items/donations that will be sold, either through an actual auction or a raffle. Monetary donations will also be accepted and all proceeds that are made during this event will help pay for the event site and/or go towards two important organizations: BuildOn and Girl Up.

BuildOn is an international nonprofit organization that runs youth service afterschool programs in United States high schools, and builds schools in developing countries. BuildOn has built over 919 schools so far in Nicaragua, Haiti, Mali, Senegal, Malawi, Nepal and – most recently – Burkina Faso. There are currently over 120,000 students attending those schools!

Girl Up is the United Nations Foundation’s adolescent girl campaign, which engages girls to stand up for girls, empower each other, and change our world. Girl Up focuses on ensuring that adolescent girls can go to school, see a doctor, participate in their communities, and live free from violence.

Tickets will be sold for admission to the event (price not yet decided), and we are open to any and all items that students, teachers, family members, etc. would like to donate. This event is going to be open to the whole community. We will take care of all artwork that is borrowed for the event and will ensure that it remains safe.
