Stout Middle School is thrilled to announce that our school was one of the ten schools in Michigan chosen to participate in an amazing new opportunity for our Falcons.
Press Release from Lansing, MI: – “The Michigan Department of Lifelong Education, Advancement, and Potential (MiLEAP) is announcing today that Michigan has been selected as one of 10 states for the NASA and U.S. Department of Education’s 21 Century Community Learning Centers (21 CCLC) collaboration. This innovative program is designed to provide middle school students with engaging opportunities in science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) education during after-school hours, equipping them with the skills needed to tackle real-world challenges and explore future career paths.“
“By engaging in NASA learning opportunities, students are challenged to use critical thinking and creativity to solve real-world challenges that scientists and engineers may face,” said Darlene Walker, director of NASA’s Glenn Research Center Office of STEM Engagement. “Through the 21st CLCC program, NASA and the Department of Education aim to inspire the next generation of explorers and innovators through high-quality educational content that ignites curiosity and fosters a joy of learning for students across the country.”
The NASA Afterschool Club will take place each Wednesday from 3:30 PM-5:30 PM at Stout Middle School starting the week of January 6, 2025 and will be led by staff from ACCESS.
