Stout students who were interested in becoming pilots or working in the air flight industry attended an awesome field trip experience to the Elite Jet Center and Airport in Waterford Twp a couple months ago as a part of our career exploration initiative at our school. On the trip, students learned about becoming a pilot as well as other jobs such as fueling planes, plane mechanic work, etc. Students also had the chance to go up in the control tower and see how the air traffic controllers are responsible for safely managing the movement of aircraft on the ground and in the air around airports.
Mr. Hussein Bazzi, flight instructor at Elite Jet Center who arranged this field trip, (who is a Dearborn Public Schools graduate) then gifted one Stout student a free 45 minute session to fly one on one with an instructor. This time can also be counted to Ali’s required flight time if he continues to pursue a pilot license.
Below are pictures of our Stout student, Ali Almaleki (8th grade), taking his first flight lesson at Elite Jet Center. Ali’s family accompanied him to the airport so he can go on his first flight lesson. Way to go, Ali!!
Mr. Bazzi also wants to work with the Stout administration to create a club at Stout for future air pilots. This is so exciting!
