At 6:00 pm tonight (Thursday, 5/20), we are hosting an informational meeting about Stout’s AVID program on Zoom. A link to the meeting was emailed to 6th & 7th grade parents and students earlier today. AVID, which stands for Advancement Via Individual Determination, is a college-readiness program designed to help students develop the skills they need to be successful in college. The program places special emphasis on growing writing, critical thinking, teamwork, organization and reading skills. Current 6th & 7th grade students at Stout can apply now to join the AVID elective class for the 2021-2022 school year. Mr. Jason Liggett is the AVID elective teacher and site coordinator at Stout. If you have any questions about the AVID program at Stout, please email Mr. Liggett at firstname.lastname@example.org.
