Know Your Classmates Day

 On Friday, October 20th, Stout Middle School had its Know Your Classmates Day.

  • Students began the event by welcoming our guests from 7:30am – 8:00am and invited them to enjoy some excellent coffee that was donated by Starbucks located at the Corner of Michigan Ave. and Oakman Blvd.\
  • From 8:00am-9:00am, guests visited our classrooms and saw the student interaction and the many Circle it up activities.
  • At 9:00am, our wonderful PTA provided a delicious combination of food for breakfast before Mrs. Marla Wiacek and Mr. Rachid Beydoun made a short presentation on the initiatives at Stout.
  • Next, a whole school mural comprised of multi-colored hand cut-outs was set by many of Stout students and staff members led by Mrs. Jillian Cardoza.
  • At 10:00am, a press conference took place outside in front of the mural. Few words about the event were presented by Stout’s Principal Mr. Oke, Director of Students’ achievement Dr. Yousef Mussallam, Co-founder and Executive Director of Beyond Differences  Mrs. Laura Talmus, ING-Midwest representative Ranya Shbeib, and students Alaa Salame, Aya Barakat, and LaNya Brown.

Many dignitaries were present at the event including Dearborn’s Mayor John O’Reilly, City Council member Thomas Tafelski, Superintendent Dr. Glenn Maleyko, Dearborn City Council  Suzan Dabaja, and Dearborn Board of Education treasurer Hussein Berry among many others.
