During the month of March, we celebrate our love of reading, and, just like the slumbering bear, it is time for Mr. Melvin’s ties to return from hibernation. Your job is to draw a full-page picture that represents your favorite book.- It could be based on a series, a book you read this year, or even your favorite of all time.
- It needs to be school appropriate and should be colorful.
- You must also write one paragraph explaining to the judges how your drawing relates to your book.
The winner will receive $25 in credit to Stout’s Book Fair and have their entry made into a tie that Mr. Melvin will actually wear to school.
Two First-place winners will each receive $10 in Scholastic Book Order bucks for the mail order, not for the Book Fair.
Three Runners-up will each win a $5 coupon to order any book from the Scholastic Book Order (that costs $5 or fewer).
Entries are due by the end of the day on March 17th at the latest so that judging may occur. Stop by Mr. Melvin’s room (D-4) to get a copy of the entry from and to see some past winners.
