Introduction to Mental Health: Tuesday, Jan. 22nd, 2019

Aiming to raise awareness on Mental Health and the way it affects our students and their ability to learn, ACCESS scheduled few presentations, the last being held on Tuesday, January 22nd.

Dearborn’s oldest Boy Scout Troop is celebrating 90 years of providing boys – and now girls – exceptional leadership, educational and outdoor experiences.  Troop 1104 will be hosting the 90th Anniversary Celebration on Sunday, February 17th and are looking to connect with as many former Scouts as possible as part of the event  that will start at 9:30 a.m. The event is being held at the First United Methodist Church of Dearborn, 22124 Garrison Street, Dearborn, MI. Thank you all for setting the tone for this performance with our students! The students really stepped up today!
The Detroit Symphony Orchestra staff had a lot of very positive comments about our students, staff, and parents!  Our collective efforts really allowed for our students to have a great experience today!

MLK Service Day: Jan. 21, 2019

Dearborn Public School Student MLK Day Committee invites you to commemorate the achievements of Dr. Martin Luther King. The event is supported by ACCESS and the City of Dearborn. Participating students should report to the Ford Performing Arts Center at 10:00 am where, based on their preference, they will be dispersed to various locations to participate in service projects that will occur at the following locations:

  • Vista Maria
  • Sarkis Senior Center
  • Beaumont Commons Sr. Living
  • Christ Episcopal (Blessings in a Backpack -food for the needy)
  • Zaman International
  • Dearborn Performing Arts Center (blankets for needy children &Canvas Art depicting diversity and inclusion)

There will be a short program at 11:30 w/ lunch to follow.

Dr. King’s work and fight acquires more urgency and significance at these times where division and fear policies seem to be the order of the day.

Valentine’s Day Candy Gram Fundraiser: Feb. 5th – Feb. 12th

Valentine’s Day is coming and that means Stout Track is having their annual Valentine’s Day Candy Gram Fundraiser!

From Tuesday, February 5thTuesday, February 12th, there will be a table set up during lunch where you can purchase candy grams to send to anyone in the school for only 50 cents each! Send a message and a heart-shaped sucker to anyone of your choosing: your crush, your friends, your classmates, or even your favorite teacher (if you have one!)

Make sure you know the first hour teacher of the person you want to send your candy gram to! Candy gram delivery will take place on Valentine’s Day, Tuesday, February 14th, during first hour. Coaches Crechiolo & Hool

Thunderbird Football Players Meeting: Wed., Feb. 13

On Wednesday, February 13th, at 2:40 PM, Coach Mac would like to invite all future Thunderbird football players to attend a brief meeting in the cafeteria at 2:40 pm. regarding the 2019 football season and extend to them an invitation to the EFHS after school student-athlete enhancement program.

If you plan to play football for EFHS, don’t miss your opportunity to get the info you need directly from Coach Mac!

The Detroit Symphony Orchestra at Stout Middle School: Wednesday, Jan. 16, 2019

The Detroit Symphony Orchestra will be performing for our students and staff on Wednesday January 16.  They are providing us with two performances free of charge.

  • The 10:30 performance will be for the 7th and 8th grade students.  All staff will report with students to sit with them and provide close supervision.
  • The 11:45 performance will be for our 6th grade students and music students from DuVall Elementary School.
We are going to do our best to roll out the red carpet for the DSO conductor and orchestra members as this is a phenomenal opportunity for our students to  enjoy a performance by a world class professional orchestra!
