STOUT MIDDLE SCHOOL

Stout 8th Graders Prepare for High School

We have a keen focus on preparing our 8th graders for high school.

From my experience as the 12th grade assistant principal in the district, there are some things I know our Stout students should do to prepare them for high school.

Students and parents attended presentations for Stout students after high school (that include Michael Berry Center, Early College Program, Collegiate Academy, etc.) All 8th graders and their parents should choose the program that will best suit your child’s future plans.

Dearborn Schools is the only district in the country that offers the Collegiate Academy Program. Email Mr. Haddad for more information.

Here are the presentations if you did not attend them.

Also, 8th graders in Algebra will be taking their Algebra Semester 1 Final for High School Credit on Jan. 19. Refer to your emails from Mrs. Abo-Hamdan (Algebra 1 math teacher) to learn about how these students are preparing. There will be tutoring this Friday, Jan. 14 from3:30-5:00 for help. Students can ride the activity bus home. There is also a ZOOM session on Saturday, Jan. 15 from 10-12 for extra help preparing. Students will get the ZOOM link from their math teacher.

Students will also be creating their own resumes to gain insight on all of the experience needed to create a desirable profile for future colleges, scholarships, etc. We are getting them started early so they work harder in their academics, join clubs and sports, etc.
